AmeriSpec Home Inspection Services of New Jersey has added online scheduling to their website. Clients can now schedule their home inspection online 24/7.

While the tool can be a real time-saver for many people it’s important for people to know that we are still available by phone to answer any questions or for scheduling by phone if they prefer.”

According to Ed Mitchell  “Shopping for an inspector by the cost of the inspection can produce a very painful lesson.” The inspector may not be experienced or may only be interested in how fast they can get paid and move on to the next inspection. If that happens you would be stuck with the costs to fix anything they miss.

For example, I had an inspection early in the week in Marlton New Jersey, where I could not inspect a flat roof area of  this home due to no access.  But I was able to use my infrared camera and scan the interior side.  The drywall looked normal, but once I scan it I discovered a current roof leak that was starting to form. I confirmed my finding with a moisture meter.  The buyer was very appreciative for me finding this defect.   The use of an infrared camera is not required under New Jersey guidelines.  But with the camera and proper training this is a very useful tool.
