I had recently completed a couple of inspections last week in Mt. Laurel, NJ where infrared saved me and my client from defects that were not visible to the naked eye. A New Jersey home inspection is a visible inspection, meaning we are not supposed to move, or dismantle anything. This at times can be very difficult to deal with. When the client is paying for your services, and would like to be aware of every pit fall prior to purchasing their dream home. With the use of Infrared I can limit the areas in a home that such defects can be missed. Not all inspectors use this technology or are trained to use this technology. I have included photos below of moisture penetration in a basement that was not visible and a roof leak that was not visible during the inspection.
